Who is the 2023 Rams Draft class?

šŸHere is your Rams 2023 Draft class! Overall, not a bad draft for the Rams. They had 14 picks in 7 rounds which is pretty solid and they drafted all their needs basically. In my opinion, Iā€™m grading this draft class an A- for the Rams. Read below to learn more about each player drafted and how it was a good pick in order. Splitting this into 2 posts since my caption canā€™t be too long.

šŸOG Steve Avila. This was the Rams first pick in the draft. A great pick because Avila is a nice addition to the O-line and they need a Left Guard. He can play any position on the O-line, huge dude who can block and move quick, and he didnā€™t allow a single sack last season.

šŸOLB Byron Young. Linebackers was a huge need for the Rams after losing Floyd, Wagner, and Robinson. Young is a fantastic pick with a nice hard working story. Heā€™s also very fast for his position with 83 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks and 22 quarterback hurries in only 21 starts.

šŸDL Kobie Turner. Another guy to add to the Defensive Line adding more depth. Heā€™s undersized for his position but his hands are heavy and good defender. Heā€™s expected to play opposite of Aaron Donald.

šŸQB Stetson Bennett. Rams currently donā€™t have a backup quarterback so this is a very nice draft pick. Bennett played for a championship college team with playoff experience. People say he only did good because he played on a great team which is why he was drafted in the 4th round but hope he proves them wrong.

šŸOLB Nick Hampton. Another addition to the Defense which adds to the depth. Heā€™s decent and can quickly threaten the edge with ease and his dip and rip is deadly.

šŸOT Warren McClendon. Another option for O-line and kind of a steal being drafted in 5th round. He also allowed 0 sacks last season, can play both guard and tackle positions, strong, physical hands and small margin for error.

šŸTE Davis Allen. Not a need but a nice TE pick up at Round 5. Heā€™s a really good blocker at Tight End which helps Offense. Also, never had more than one drop in any season of his career with a drop rate of only 3.3%. Probably wonā€™t play much in beginning but can develop into a good NFL Tight End.

šŸWR Puka Nacua. Solid pick at the end of Round 5. Good body control and focus, can win one-on-one situations on the outside. Considered to be similar to Robert Woods and may even have some Cooper Kupp in him that hopefully can be unleashed one day.

šŸCB Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson. A steal at Round 6. With Jalen Ramsey gone, thereā€™s no one proven anymore for the Rams at Cornerback. He was drafted late because of his size but aside from that heā€™s a steal because his defense is fantastic. 34.6% completion rate. Led all CBs with 21 forced incompletions.

šŸOLB Ochaun Mathis. Solid pick and another option as Defensive line. Adds to depth and a good option in case Hampton, Young, or Turner are busts. Used to be great at TCU but got worse when he transferred to Nebraska.

šŸRB Zach Evans. Another option at Running back. All Rams really have for Running backs is Cam Akers so this is a nice pickup. Evans is kind of a steal as well. Has great burst and balance to create explosive plays and was projected to be drafted much earlier.

šŸP Ethan Evans. Automatically a good pick because they donā€™t have a Punter. Nonetheless, heā€™s not bad, averaged 45.7 yds/punt and has crazy hang time.

šŸS Jason Taylor II. Good addition since Rams can use another Free Safety. Taylor has good range and mobility. Didnā€™t commit a single penalty in college. Tons of special teams experience.

šŸDL Desjuan Johnson. The final pick. Another option at Defense. 45.5 TFLs/14.5 sacks at Toledo. Plays with great leverage, heavy hands, and a non-stop motor.
