Los Angeles Sports Team Standings Update September 18, 2023

Here’s your weekly update on team standings for LA sports that are going on. Every week I’ll try to update where all the LA teams are at. First off-

⚫️LAFC picked up a big win against LA rivals, LA Galaxy! This helped them jump from 3rd place to 2nd and only 6 points away from first place. With only 6 games left in the season, every game is going to be big. LAFC will obviously aim for first, but at the very least they need to focus staying in the top 4 for home field advantage.

⚪️LA Galaxy lost this week to LA rivals, LAFC. Now instead of only 4 points away from the playoffs, they are 6 points out, not good. Good thing though is that they have 6 games left where some teams only have 4 games left in the season.

🔵Dodgers clinched the NL West division title last weekend for the 10th time in 11 years! This also means they’ve clinched a playoff spot once again. Last time they missed the playoffs was 2012. Just another fantastic year for the Dodgers and the focus now is the playoffs.

🔴Angels were officially eliminated from playoff contention a few nights ago. Just another disastrous season. Last time Angels made the playoffs was 2014, horrible. The focus now is for the Angels to find out who they want to keep and who to let go.

🟡Chargers lost their 2nd game in a row and remain winless. It was another close game and a game they should have won. Defense has been a bit disappointing and if they don’t get it together soon, this season will be very tough.

⚪️Rams lost in Week 2. A tough loss as they lost to the 49ers who is in their division. Meanwhile, Rams’ rookie WR Puka Nacua had 15 receptions for 147 yards Sunday, the most receptions in a single game by a rookie in NFL history.
