Happy New Year! Here’s your weekly update on team standings for LA sports that are going on this week, 12/31-1/6. First off-
🟣Lakers have gone 1-2 since my last standings update last week and still sit at 9th place. They have lost 8 of their last 11 games. It’s a new year so it’s a good time to pick things back up. There’s still 48 games to go so still some time.
🔵The Clippers are 2-0 since my last standings update. They are 11-2 in their last 13 games and are 4th in the West. Not bad after starting the season poorly.
🟡Chargers lost once again but there is nothing to update here as they’ve been out of playoff contention for a few weeks now. Right now they’ve got the 6th overall pick in the next draft but of course can change with 1 more game to go.
⚪️Rams picked up another huge win against the Giants to secure themselves a playoff spot! They have won 6 of their last 7! If the season ended today, they would face the Lions but with 1 more game to go that is subject to change.
⚪️LA Kings have gone 1–1-1 since my last standings update. They’ve played 3 games less than the top Pacific team and are only 4 points away. Kings are on a solid pace to finish first but with 52 games to go a lot can change.
⚫️Anaheim Ducks are 1-2-0 since my last update. The 1 win came against the defending champs but the last 2 losses were horrible. Almost halfway through the season and it doesn’t seem the Ducks will be a playoff contender unless they have a huge 2nd half of season.
