Former Cub RHP Kyle Hendricks and the Angels agree on one year deal, around $3 million.
Kyle Hendricks, who will be 35 next month, had his worst pitching year last season - 5.92 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 87:43 K:BB over 130.2 innings with the Cubs. He started 24 games and was a reliever in 5. Although, Hendricks had a tough year, he can certainly bounce back as he’s been a great pitcher throughout his career and was an MLB ERA leader and World Series Champion in 2016. Time will tell if he’ll be a good signing but right now it’s not a bad one. He’ll ultimately be Canning’s replacement.
