After Designating James Paxton for assignment earlier this week, the Red Sox are trading for him so he doesn’t get claimed. Dodgers will get minor league infielder Moises Bolivar.
Bolivar, 17, is in his first year in pro baseball. Was with BOS’ Rookie Dominican Summer League affiliate (.270 AVG/.364 OBP/.423 SLG, 3 HR, 19 RBI in 31 games).
