Chargers placed running back Gus Edwards (ankle) and cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. (shoulder) on injured reserve, sidelining each for a minimum of four games.

They also activated LB Nick Niemann, signed S Tony Jefferson, and elevated CB Dicaprio Bootle from the p squad for Sunday’s game.
