Dustin May Transferred To 60-Day IL

Some new update today on May's injury which is not good news, the Dodgers have transferred Dustin May to the 60-day IL, which means he’ll be out at least 60 days. This will also officially knock him out until at least after the all star break which is July 9-13.

This is not good in a lot of ways. Not only he will miss out on being an All-Star (which he for sure would be by now if it wasn't for injuries), but seems like his injury is not getting better. The original speculation was that he'll miss about a month, now it wasn't the official return date but it gave us hope he would be back sooner than later. But it's not the case.

After the move to the 60-day IL was announced, there's still no clear timetable for return. So just because he will miss at least 60 days, does not mean he will be back in 60 days. He could miss 100 days or worse. More on his injury should be announced in coming days but this news is not what Dodger fans want to hear. Going forward when May comes back one day, perhaps they should transition him to a reliever role who can pitch 2-3 innings. Because it seems his arm cannot handle a starting pitcher workload. We will see what happens.
