Dodgers Trade For Amed Rosario

Dodgers continue to try to improve their roster by trading for another hitter. Yesterday, they traded for Kike Hernandez and today the Dodgers are sending Noah Syndergaard to the Guardians for SS Amed Rosario. This is a pretty nice trade because they got rid of one of their worst pitchers for a solid hitter. So who is Amed Rosario?

Amed Rosario is a shortstop who can sometimes play in the outfield and has been in the league since 2017. He's not the best at defense but he's a pretty nice hitter. He has hit in the high .200s in batting average throughout his career and OPS is not bad either at around .700 in over 3000 at bats. He's got some speed as he is not bad at stealing bases and led the AL in triples last season. He'll likely compete with Miguel Rojas who hasn't hit well at shortstop but who knows, maybe he'll play other positions.

The fact that the Dodgers got rid of one of their worst pitchers for a solid hitter makes this a really good trade. Hopefully Rosario continues to hit well this season. Right now, I am grading this trade an A. Expect more trades for the Dodgers before the MLB trade deadline on August 1.
