The Angels have made some significant moves today:
•Selected the contracts of LHP Sam Aldegheri and RHP Caden Dana. Both are set the make their big league debuts this weekend as starters.
•Placed RHP Carson Fulmer (right elbow inflammation) on 15-day IL (retro to Aug. 27). Fulmer mentioned he’s not too worried about his elbow injury, believing it to be just inflammation. However, he’s having an MRI today. He first felt it during a pitch in the fourth inning in Toronto.
•Designated RHP Johnny Cueto for assignment. Cueto made only 2 starts with the Angels allowing 9 runs, 4 HRs, had 6 Ks in 11.1 IP. There could be a chance he doesn’t get picked up and goes back to Angels Minors team.
•Transferred RHP José Marte to 60-day IL. Marte was placed on the 15-day IL with Viral infection on 8/10. Appears to be more serious now.
