Clippers GM Moves To Another Team

The Clippers will need to start looking for a new General Manager. Clippers General Manager, Michael Winger, has been hired as the President of Monumental Basketball for the Washington Wizards. The role oversees all of Washington's basketball entities, from the Wizards, to G League Go-Go, Mystics and the org's basketball facilities.


Michael Winger was the Clippers GM since 2017. He was number 2 in basketball operations, reporting to Lawrence Frank. He leaves a void now for the Clippers. He helped make the Kawhi Leonard to Clippers signing and trade for Paul George in 2019. He also helped the Clippers reach the Western Conference Finals in 2021 for the first and only time. Moreover, he had some responsibilities with the construction of the team’s Inglewood arena, Intuit Dome.


Mark Hughes and Trent Redden both joined LAC as assistant GMs in 2017 so they can be options as the new GM. The search for their new GM begins!
