Clippers 2024 Free Agency So Far 7/2/24

With the 2024 NBA Free Agency starting June 30th, the Clippers already have some significant adds and losses. The headlines being re-signing James Harden and losing Paul George to the 76ers. Let's take a look at the Clippers Free agency so far.

Signed players:

-James Harden (2 year, $70 million deal)

-Russell Westbrook (exercised player option)

-Derrick Jones Jr. (3 year, $30 million deal)

-Kevin Porter Jr. (2 year deal)

-PJ Tucker (exercised player option)

-Nic Batum (2 year, $9.6 million deal)

-Kris Dunn (deal details TBA)

-Mo Bamba (1 year deal)

Players lost:

-Paul George (signed 4 year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers)

-Mason Plumlee (signed 1 year deal with the Phoenix Suns)

Clippers have been pretty active in free agency with acquiring players with some nice depth but they still do not have Paul George's replacement. Kevin Porter Jr was a surprising but nice pick up but he did not play in the NBA all of last year due to Domestic violence issues. His last season in the NBA, he averaged 19.2 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 5.7 APG, shot 44% overall and 36% from 3 with the Houston Rockets. Not bad but he did miss a year and uncertain if he is the same. Derrick Jones Jr. is also a solid pick up having his best year yet (8.6 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 48% FG overall, 34% from 3). Bringing back James Harden was key and Nic Batum coming back was also big. Russell Westbrook exercised his player option but there are rumors he will be traded. Hopefully, the same for PJ Tucker. Kris Dunn is a solid bench player and Mo Bamba will be Plumlee's replacement. I can't imagine they won't make anymore moves but lets see. In my opinion, they need Paul George's replacement still.
