The Los Angeles Chargers today agreed to terms with cornerback Donte Jackson and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste.
Jackson, who entered the NFL as a second-round pick (55th overall) by Carolina in the 2018 NFL Draft, is one of just six NFL players over the last seven seasons to have at least 15 interceptions, 15 tackles for loss, 50 pass breakups and an interception returned for a touchdown. He has started 92-of-96 career games played for the Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers, including the postseason, totaling 342 tackles (276 solo), a sack, 19 interceptions, a pick-six, 54 passes defensed, 17 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and three recoveries. In 15 starts last season for the Steelers, Jackson set a career-high with five interceptions, ranking tied for No. 6 in the NFL and tied for second in the AFC.
St-Juste (pronounced saint-JUICE) spent the first four years of his career in the nation’s capital after being a third-round selection by Washington in the 2021 NFL Draft (74th overall). In 54 career regular-season games, he made 45 starts, totaling 206 tackles (162 solo), three sacks, an interception, 34 passes defensed, four tackles for loss, four forced fumbles and a recovery. St-Juste set a career high in 2023 with 17 pass breakups, ranking No. 4 in the NFL that season. He appeared in all three of Washington’s playoff games last year, making two tackles.
