Another relief pitcher Out for season. After further testing, it was determined Angels reliever RHP Austin Warren will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery. He’ll have it the same day as José Quijada.
It's not the biggest loss for the Angels but losing another relief pitcher is tough especially a young pitcher like Warren. Warren was entering his 3rd MLB season with the Angels and although he had a 5.40 ERA, he only pitched 1.2 innings so it is too small of a sample size to judge. His rookie year he had a 1.77 ERA in 20.1 innings so he definitely has the skills to be a solid reliever. Like Quijada, who is also out for season, Warren might have had an important role in the bullpen this season, so definitely tough news for the Angels.
